The rift encompasses the Crater Highlands, which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1959 and the 600m deep Ngorongoro Crater – the largest inactive caldera in the world. If you want to spoilt yourself or that special someone, another way to view the wildlife is via aerial view in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti Plains.
